Your Beautiful Story
Driving home from a bridal shower yesterday, I began thinking about the two lives that are about to come together as one. God has begun to merge two beautiful stories together as they journey into this marriage. There is joy, beauty, anticipation and most of all love as this day nears and as I thought about this, I began to consider how God works and moves among each of us to write our stories which fill in the middle part of the Big story that He has already written. God’s story is the most profound, beautiful and amazing love story of all time and to think that each of us will have a roll in it is beyond exciting. He has already written the beginning and the ending but now, right now he is writing our stories to fill in the middle. From start to finish, God knows the plans he has for each one of us (Jeremiah 29:11) and he is working ALL THINGS out for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28) just like he said he would. God will not withhold any good thing from us as he orchestrates his plans in our lives and he promises to bring those plans to fruition, he just asks us to trust him as he does it (Philippians 1:6).
Whether it’s the joy of a wedding, the heartache of an ended relationship, the joy of a baby or the heartbreak of a lost life, it is all being written in your story, which becomes part of His story from Glory to Glory! Though we only see slivers of our life in the here and now, God sees the whole picture, the finished masterpiece. If you believe this, then you can let go of all the doubt you may have and let God replace it with the hope that he promises as he pulls us close to him and gives our hearts the rest we so desperately need. I would have lost heart a long time ago if I had not believed this truth that God had these plans for me and knew what was best for me. Sometimes the hardest part of this is to remember that God knows all of the plans he has for each of our kids too, he is writing their stories as well and so we need to trust Him with that. Wherever you are in your story, know that God has you right where he wants you. He is working to make your life a beautiful part of His story. What a day it will be when we see, for ourselves, the ending.
