WALK BY FAITH

When the road before you begins to twist and wind and you cannot see what is around the corner, fear and anxiety has a tendency to show its ugly face. Not knowing what is on the other side of that curve in life can become scary and your focus becomes the road instead of the one who designed the road and knows it well. Jesus tells us to “walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Everyone puts their faith in something or someone, but there is only 1 person who sees the whole picture of your life; every twist and every turn. In fact He is the one who put those twist and turns in your life. In Psalm 139:16 Jesus says that He has ordained all the days for us and that each one of those days were written in His book before one of them came to be. If you are currently traveling down a very twisty road, know that you are right where God knew you would be. Instead of keeping your eyes on the coiled road ahead, put them on the person who knows the road and can lead you safely around it. When you allow Jesus to lead you, instead of seeing the ugliness ahead, you will see the beauty that surrounds you as you travel. God assures us in Jeremiah 29:11 that “he knows the plans that he has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future.”

Think about it. If God knows you inside and out, and he does. Psalm 139:1 – “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.” Psalm 139:13 – “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” If God has put into place the paths that he wants you to journey down because he has a plan for your life, doesn’t it make sense that we should trust Him to get us through all of those paths? If he sees our life from beginning to end doesn’t it make sense to trust him with the middle; the here and now? When we trust him on our journey, those twisty-turney paths become straight and clear. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

So how do you get to the point where you can let Jesus “take the wheel” of your life? Jeremiah 29:12-14 tells you. “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord.” Ask Him to guide you on the path that you are traveling today! He will show you such easiness and beauty that you would have otherwise missed along the way. Jesus will help you to (as the British would say), “Keep Calm And Journey On!”
